The Indiana State Museum is a spacious and versatile event venue located within the White River State Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. This venue offers stunning architecture, sweeping views, and ample wedding photography opportunities. Our experienced event team is dedicated to working with you to make your dream day come to life.
Facilities and Capacity
We offer multiple spaces, including both indoor and outdoor options, for couples to host their wedding celebration, rehearsal dinner, and day-after brunch! Your day is special, so we only host one wedding per night. If your wedding is planned outdoors, we will always have an indoor backup space available for you and your guests.
- Governor Frank & Judy O’Bannon Great Hall (indoor and outdoor space): Seats up to 350 guests
- Farmers Market Cafe and Terrace (indoor and outdoor space): Seats up to 100 guests
- Rapp Reception Hall (indoor space with a museum ambience): Seats up to 100 guests
- Canal Overlook Bridge (indoor space with an outdoor ambience): Seats up to 120 guests
- L.S. Ayres Tea Room (indoor space with a vintage ambience): Seats up to 50 guests
- West Canal Terrace (outdoor space with a modern ambience): Seats up to 50 guests
- Redbud Grove (outdoor space with a garden ambience): Seats up to 100 guests

Additional rental spaces are available across the state of Indiana at our state historic sites, offering lakeside retreats, beautiful gardens, masterful architecture, cozy intimate spaces, and more.
Services Offered
Couples wishing to wed at the Indiana State Museum can utilize the dedicated event planners on-site to assist with the preparation and execution of their special day. The venue provides get-ready rooms for couples to prepare in comfort and style. Catering and beverage services (through Kahn’s Catering) can be arranged, along with setup and cleanup of events held here.
Other vendors, such as photographers, videographers, decorators, and florists, are welcome to work alongside our event professionals to make your wedding day unforgettable! We also allow pets to be part of special celebrations because they are your family too!
