A Rich History of Transformation

Originally known as Woolton Hall, Bellevue Hall was completed in 1855 and soon became a summer or suburban retreat for influential figures of the time. This transformation followed the 1838 completion of the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railway, which increased the area’s appeal. By 1893, the property was acquired by the duPont Family, who undertook several modifications to elevate the mansion to its current status as a notable Greek Revival estate. Their renovations imbued the building with characteristics reminiscent of Montpelier, solidifying its reputation as a distinguished residence.

From Private Mansion to State Landmark

In 1976, Bellevue Hall was purchased by the State of Delaware, which integrated it into Bellevue State Park as a premier showcase of historical architecture. Today, the venue is managed exclusively by Jeffrey Miller Catering, ensuring that every event hosted within its walls benefits from top-tier service and unparalleled attention to detail.
