A Rich History

In the summer of 1914, Chatham Bars Inn opened its doors and welcomed the world, beginning a tradition of gracious hospitality that lives on today. Prominent Boston stockbroker Charles Ashley Hardy acquired the land in 1912, and within one year, the main inn, nine seaside cottages, and a golf course were constructed. With deep-sea and harbor fishing available at its doorstep, the Inn quickly became a popular hunting lodge for sportsmen. The Chatham Bars Inn has hosted the Dutch Royal Family, Henry Ford, and William Rockefeller and became a year-round resort in 1988, with extensive renovations taking place over several years. The result is a blend of timeless character and classic New England charm with the sophisticated comforts of today.

From cozy rooms to spacious suites, they are equally suitable for couples, families, and large groups. The Spa Suites, located above the spa, set a new standard for luxury on Cape Cod. These 600-square-foot suites cater to adults seeking spa surroundings, each featuring an oversized hydrotherapy tub, sauna, steam shower, and fireplace.
