The venue retains its distinctive 18th-century design features, including cheerful pastels, handsome wainscoting, airy curtains, and chandeliers that bathe the rooms in soft, amiable light. Concord’s Colonial Inn can accommodate up to 125 guests and offers a total of 56 guest rooms, including a honeymoon suite, for overnight stays.

History

Built in 1716, the inn served as a storehouse for arms and provisions during the Revolutionary War. In 1775, British forces attempted to destroy the inn’s supplies, leading to the historic battle at the North Bridge, marking the start of the American Revolution. From 1835 to 1837, Henry David Thoreau resided at the inn while studying at Harvard. The property was renamed Concord’s Colonial Inn in 1900 and celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2016.
