A Rich History
The Historic Greer Depot’s story began over a century ago. Constructed in 1913 by Charles Christian Hook of Charlotte, North Carolina, it served as a combination passenger station and freight warehouse for the Piedmont & Northern Railway. Over the years, it was utilized by several railroads, including the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, Seaboard System Railroad, and CSX Transportation. In 1984, the depot faced potential demolition.
Preservation and Redevelopment
Saved from destruction by the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority, the depot was sold to Station One Partnership in 1987, leading to its transformation into retail and office space. In 2017, Letchworth Properties, LLC purchased the Historic Greer Depot with the vision of fully restoring it to its original grandeur.
Current Use
Today, the Historic Greer Depot houses the General and Administrative offices of Western Carolina Railway Service Corporation and its subsidiaries. It also features a boutique beer and wine store, along with the newly established Historic Greer Depot, LLC. The former warehouse space has been transformed into a modern Event Venue and Meeting Space.
Event Space Features
The indoor event space encompasses a 3,600 sq. ft. main room, complete with modern ADA-accessible restrooms and a catering kitchen. Additionally, a 900 sq. ft. outdoor rose garden is available for meetings, cocktail functions, elopements, bridal portraits, and more.

Nestled in the heart of the Greer Station Historic District at 300 Randall Street, Greer, SC 29651, the venue is conveniently located just 17 miles from Greenville and 18 miles from Spartanburg. It’s only minutes away from GSP International Airport (5 miles) and is surrounded by lodging, restaurants, and retail outlets throughout the Historic District.
